Kerry Challenged on Claim of Foreign Support

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell: "I don't know what foreign leaders Senator Kerry is talking about, It's an easy charge, an easy assertion to make. But if he feels it is that important an assertion to make, he ought to list some names. If he can't list names, then perhaps he should find something else to talk about."

A heckler, Cedric Brown, kept pressing Kerry to reveal which foreign officials he was talking about, said, "If he's lying about something so simple as this, you have to wonder whether a President Kerry would be an honest person. I wanted to give him an opportunity to defend his lie. He gave a nonanswer, which tells me he's lying."
